25 November

Today we received our mark for the note inversion written assessment task. I got 4.7 out of 8 and i think it is quite good because i can't really do note inversion and music theory. I also practiced my composition at the front. Mr. Herry told  me that i played it too fast and i should practice more.

22 November

Today we practiced our composition in the instrument room. We were also told to upload our video into the blog. I was able to practice my composition and now able to play it quite smoothly but luckily i didnt get the chance to practice it at the front.

18 November

Today we were told to practice our composition. There were only 2 people present in the guitar class. It was me and Melvin. I was only able to practice a little bit because Mr. John was helping Melvin first. And so i was only able to play the first half of my A bar.

8 November

Today Mr. Herry showed us our friends work. He showed us 2 work from each instrument. Based from my observation, i think i need to change my melody because im not sure if i'm able to play it later on.

4 November

Today Mr. Herry collected our finale files for the ABACA 40 bar ones. I also have to copy my composition into the draft paper again because Mr. Herry lost it when i have submitted it yesterday. Yet i wasnt able to finish making the lyric because i think i need to hear the melody.

1 November

Today we were told to copy our 40 Bars ABACA composition that we had expanded from 20 bars to a final draft paper. I wasnt able to finish it because i was absent and so i have to finish it during my instrument class.

25 October

Today Mr. Herry checked our finale homework. I have already done the homework last week so i wasnt worried. He also taught us on how to expand our 4 bars melody into 8 bars

21 October

Today i submitted my homework in the finale program through my usb. Unfortunately my file couldnt be opened because it is a 2011 program. Mr. Herry then showed us how to use the finale program further.

18 October

Today in the theory class Mr. Herry checked our homework. The homework was to make the ABACA melody. After he checked every single one, he picked some of the good melody according to him and played it on the piano at the front.

14 October

Today Mr. Herry taught us about ABACA melody. It was a really short lesson because we had a full session of instrument class. I quite understand the lesson. Now i have a homework to make my own ABACA melody.

11 October

Today Mr. Herry told us that we are going to compose our own song using the basic notes from C to high C. He taught us the basic notes before we proceed on making our own composition. I think i did okay on making the composition. I should try the composition on my instrument, which is the guitar.

7 October

Today i did my Western singing assessment. Mr. Herry told us we can do a duet and so i sang it with Bryant. I think i did fine on the assessment. I sang the song "Somewhere Out There" from the move "An American Tale". I was then told that i should sing louder and so i should do that next time

4 October

Today i did my singing assessment of singing the Indonesia Pusaka. I think i did okay but i laughed a bit and it could decrease my score. Next time i should focus more so i wont laugh during the singing assessment

30 September

Today we had the written assessment for music notation and major and minor triads. i think i did quite okay but i'm not sure if i got a good score or not. Next week we have a music singing assessment which is singing the Indonesia Pusaka

23 September

Today Mr. Herry gave us a practice test for note inversion. I didn't understand at first, but i was able to after being explained closely. i think i should practice note inversion more so i can do the test well.

6 September

Today i did my practical assessment on performing a classical music on my instrument which is the guitar. i think i did quite well even though i was a bit nervous. i will try to be more confident next time and less nervous.

2 September

Today Mr. Herry told us that each one of us is going to practice our classical music/scale. We did an inversion practice before we went to our instrument classes to practice our song. It was a challenge for me to learn the song even though its a simple song because i am new in guitar but i will try to do my best.

30 August

Today Mr. Herry taught the class about note. I learn about chords and how to write the first and second inversion of a note. It wasnt that hard once i understood the concept. I will try to practice about note inversion if i have time so that i can develop better.

26 August

Today my group did the assessment for Pop VS Classical Music. I think my group did well because we have prepared the presentation well including the palm cards. From doing the presentation, i have learn about pop and classic music and their differences.

24 August

Today I didn't do much even though my group and I are suposed to do the group presentation with my group. This is because we didn't have time to let all the group do the presentation. The only group will use this time to improve my presentation.

19 August

Today was the group presentation assessment day. My group was the third group to present the presentation. The first group was jordi's and the second was the derrick's and ryan's geoup was the last one. My group received 6 for the achievement level for today and on monday we are going to present it again but we will be making it better

16 August

Today I did my assessment along with Samuel, Shilla and Valerie.I don't think I did my assessment well enough. I think its probably because I am nervous. Today we also discuss about our group assessment which is to make a presentation about pop vs classical music.

12 August

Today Mr. Herry brought all of us to the computer room because most of us haven't make the blog yet. He told us that after we make the blog we should go back to the music room. I took some time making the blog because I had some trouble.When I went back to the music room, I found out that we've been divided into groups to make a presentation about classic music VS Pop music. I was in one group with Linden, Bryant, Shilla and Dimas.

9 Augustus

Today we continue the assessment again.We start again with Karinino with You raise me up since he was the next one on the list. Even though we continue the assessment today, we still wasn't able to finish the assessment today. And since we wasn't able to finish the assessment again, we didn't have instrument class again.

5 Augustus

Today is the start of the assessment. Mr. Herry gave us the assessment booklet to fill in. The first one up was Adiva Nitindo. Since we didn't have enough time for everyone to sing the assessment and we only got up to Karinino. And since we didn't have time to do the assesment, we didn't have instrument class at all.

2 August 2010

Today Mr. Herry told us that each one of us will be practicing our song for the assessment. Each one of us practices our song except for a few people because we didn't have enough time. As a result, we didn't have time for music instrument class.

July 29

In our second music lesson, Mr. Herry told us to pick a pop song for us to sing for our assessment next week. He also told us that if we didn't tell him what song we were going to chose today, we would have to email him our song. Mr. Herry then gave us the lyric to Heal the world song by Michael Jackson and we all sang the song.

July 26 2010

Today Mr. Herry gave the whole class our MYP learning plan and task booklet. We discuss about our assesment next wek which is to sing a pop song. After we discuss, we had a small quiz on notation major scales. I dont think i did my best since i dont know much about the notation.
